Christos Theofilis (born 1956 in Piraeus) is a Greek painter who, after a brief stumble at the Athens School of Fine Arts, turned to the Merchant Navy and later devoted himself full‑time to art. He discovered he’s colour‑blind, a quirk that pushed him toward bold, semi‑tonal compositions and helped him develop a distinctive visual language

.

He’s been a prolific exhibitor—over 160 solo shows—including early milestones like Epithanatios Synthesi at the Ora Cultural Center (1981) and The Moon at To Trito Mati Gallery (1989). After a two‑decade hiatus, he resurfaced with a 2007 retrospective at the “Ekfrasi – Gianna Grammatopoulou” gallery, presenting works such as The Portrait of Dorian Gray and a limited‑edition album celebrating Oscar Wilde

.

In 2000 he founded the alternative cultural hub Art Act, which became a meeting point for artists and curators. The organization still runs events and exhibitions, keeping his rebellious, anti‑commercial spirit alive in Athens

.
